Surreal character study focusing on the friendship between two male hustlers, Mike and Scott, in Portland, Oregon. They live on the streets, do drugs, and sell themselves to men and women. Mike is quiet, gay and suffers from narcolepsy. Abandoned as a child, he is obsessed with finding his long-lost mother. Scott is the rebellious son of a high-ranking family, who lives this life mostly to embarrass his father. Mike is in love with Scott, who still maintains he is straight and insists that his wild lifestyle on the streets is only temporary. Together, they embark on a quest to find Mike's mother, traveling from Portland to Idaho to Italy, with Scott picking up a beautiful girl along the way.

Gus Van Sant's talent as a filmmaker with a unique vision come to this wonderful film. It is a remarkable achievement in all departments. The images are impressive, the soundtrack and excellent acting in the place. River Phoenix is revealed here as an adult actor of great promise and premature death adds to the desperation of the character played. Unfortunately, this pinnacle of Van Sant that slowly but surely go down to the mainstream "Good Will Hunting" and evil "Psycho" remake. Not only can lose is one to watch and see again

For many of us - Idaho - changed everything. I was still in high school when the film: My Own Private Idaho came out and, like many of you, I was never the same. But the great script and direction, lighting and camera, (scene of the motorcycle and fire to name a few) there is no doubt that this river is film. No disrespect to Van Sant, or any person involved. I realize the My Own Private Idaho Drama film would be the same or nearly so good without them - especially Gus. The truth is, however, Rio made this DivX film My Own Private Idaho for us all. Never has a DVD movie My Own Private Idaho so deeply touched us or any person of an unrequited love resonated so deeply. I think I can safely say that I was not the only teenager in the world which have nothing to be on the scene with fire camp River. Although in reality you know? No movies, no actors, no objects or false lights of Hollywood and as far as possible. Just me and only by a river of fire, a million miles away from fear.

Can not find one word to describe my feelings at this incredible film, I mean, Gus Van Sant is an expert in this type of movie, obviously, Pharmacy Cowboy! This time, the camera becomes a drug addict with a hustler. Probably he is good at choosing the right actor to act the role, makes Mike Waters River Phoenix alive, not a role, but River is Mike! You can feel Mike's empty loneliness through Rio de facial expression and gestures. Imagine if your dad is your brother, your mother is mentally ill, what can you do? Mike does not abandon his dream of finding her mother. Each time, the hope he brings a place to meet with her, however, all you get is frustration. Mike is a tragic symbol! He falls in love with Scott, a type that grows in a rich, well-cultivated family and teenage rebels in their time. Does it mean that you can fool around Mike Scott? Deeply hurt the heart of Mike? I can not say if the love of Mike Scott did it or not, is too cruel to dump Mike flies in Italy and the U.S. promised to call! Most people may not like this DVD film My Own Private Idaho because it reveals the darkness in the world, however, this is the truth of the world we are living. Why is it so good? Because it is so real, close to reality. Wherever, Whatever, have a nice day!

Mike (River Phoenix) has narcolepsy, and when is super-emphasized what they have interpreted the attacks of cataplexy, ie sleep due to increased emotions. His friend, lover and companion for male prostitute, Scott (Keanu Reeves) is a rich father who will leave a very strong when he turns 21. These two characters are the main focus of "My Private Idaho", which deals with common and uncommon subjects like home, sexual identity and love. Van Sant throws in the language of Shakespeare directly plagiarized some of Henry IV and a nonlinear narrative and you have a very pretty surreal indie film. The credits of this My Own Private Idaho Drama film is that director and star, River Phoenix, whose moving and understated performance lifts the My Own Private Idaho film above the trash that could easily have been another director or actor's hands. Van Sant uses symbols to represent the emotional states and their use of special effects is limited and effective. There are some really sincere dialogue in this film, especially so that the scene of the camp fire. This DivX Movie My Own Private Idaho can be irritating and sometimes Shakespeare's dialogue does not work (and that is well accepted that an almost perfect as this My Own Private Idaho movie has flaws) and Reeves is sometimes a bit rigid. The DVD film My Own Private Idaho is redeemed by its most bitter-sweet and funny ending opening titles. I will not address all the issues in this My Own Private Idaho movie because I have no energy. Just appreciate the My Own Private Idaho Drama movie for what it is and have a good day. :)
