| If you're a fan of Terry Gilliam's films, I think you'll like Tideland. Gilliam has always been a champion of style over substance, so it was not expected on a masterpiece of ideas here. Tideland, on the other hand, is a visionary fantasy / horror Tideland Drama seen from the viewpoint of a girl, Jeliza-Rose (played by Jodelle Ferland significantly). Configuration definitely reminds me of one of the best movies like 2006, Pan's Labyrinth, but I like this infinitely better. Guillermo Del Toro has no claims. Gilliam sets to give us something strange and wonderful, and we get far. After Jeliza-Rose's mother dies, she and her father (Jeff Bridges) to flee the house his grandmother, a home that is reminiscent of the Bates Motel. Soon after, his father dies (a fact that Jeliza-Rose, who lives almost always in his mind, ignored), known for their peculiar two neighbors. The DVD movie Tideland is really funny and disturbing. | Undoubtedly, this is Gilliam's strongest view from Brazil. It is also a DVD film Tideland that has to be seen on the big screen so you do not miss it if it is near you. | Amazing movie. Queer, funny, surprising beauty. At their best Gilliam again. After overproduced hollow Grimm Brothers and this is a gem. You may have to wait until the end of the Tideland Drama to understand what really is. The final scene is amazing.
